Songs that wore thrift shop clothes and dyed their hair and painted their sneakers. Songs that made the other songs defensive. Songs that, when they found each other, suddenly felt at home and thrived. Late bloomers. Simmering giants. The tortoise. These songs are the right songs for the wrong record.

Three of these songs were recorded during the sessions for the album Bells on the Boats on the Bay. Four were during the Whole Point of the Trip. One was specifically recorded for this release.
