Bourgeois Heroes - Come Out And Play With Bourgeois Heroes
"When
I was about thirteen years old I got my first cassette recorder. A simple
portable model with a microphone and a cable you could plug in a radio or
record player. The first thing I did was record some shows from the radio
station Veronica. On bright green BASF C90 cassettes which I saved for a
long time. I recorded pieces of shows like 'Goud van Out' and other shows
with oldies from the sixties. For instance "Time of the Season"
from The Zombies and "Lies" from The Knickerbockers. I still like
to hear this songs and they remind me of my youth. I had the same wonderful
feeling when I heard Bourgeois Heroes.
Jason
and Elise started Bourgeois Heroes in 2002 after they had bought a guitar
and drumset. They soon recorded their first single and for the next five
years the duo was mainly a studio project which got on stage just now and
then. The released some selfmade CDr's in those years, but their new EP
"Come Out & Play with Bourgeois Heroes" is their debut on
a regular indie label. Or actually on two labels: Rub Wrongways Records
and I Eat Records. This CD from Bourgeois Heroes has just one flaw: it just
contains six songs. They are beautiful popsongs with the real feel of the
sixties."
